Late one Friday afternoon, about 10 weeks ago, Betty adopted me! I arrived home from work and Betty was waiting for me. She had made herself at home on a bench in front of my house just outside my front door. Upon examination, I realized that Betty had scabies, a treatable skin disease. I immediately contacted the veterinary clinic that I used and trusted since 1981. They suggested I bring her in for an exam. I did so. Betty received 2 injections for her skin condition. I was advised to not allow her to have contact with any of my cats and for me to wear gloves when feeding / caring for her. A make-shift shelter was made for Betty. She received daily care / love for 3 additional weeks. Then, she returned to the veterinary clinic for an additional two injections and the appointment for her spay and annual shots was made. Fast forward 2 more weeks, Betty is now UTD on shots and is spayed. Many posts were made on Facebook. No one claimed this sweet baby. She is approximately 1 year old. Full of life and has lots of purrs and kisses to give.
